Back in the day, United Airlines was a premier air carrier. And Hawaii was the coolest place to travel. Hawaii is definitely a cool place to visit but unfortunately I can't say much for United Air...definitely not a premier airline.
While in Maui, I picked up a bunch of vintage postcards featuring Hawaiian Travel posters. I love the bright colors and graphics and thought these would make great cards. If you like vintage and Hawaii, you can find the postcards at Island Art Store.
Aloha and Mahalo!
paper - kraft cardstock, su not quite navy (textured), wild wasabi (textured), purely pomegranate(textured), basic black; accessories - pacifica island art postcards
The gift tags were quick and easy to make. I used basic grey (un)dressed chipboard tags and basic grey fruitcake paper (discontinued as of this year). Stampin' Up's Merry & Bright set fits perfectly on each tag. To add a little sparkle, I outlined the images with a sakura gelly roll pen. The sparkle on the snowflakes is diamond stickles.
Since this was a christmas workshop, each friend received a gift bag with a few sheets of fruitcake paper, chipboard tags, and ribbon.
paper - basic grey fruitcake; stamps - merry and bright; ink - su basic black; accessories - sakura gelly roll pens, stickles, liquid applique (on snowman), ribbon
Yesterday I had a few close friends come to my house for a christmas card workshop. I had the workshop not to sell stuff but to share my love for stamping. I created four cards (two stamped, two w/stickers) and three gift tags. We enjoyed wine (thought that would help with creativity) & appetizers. Everyone had a great time and asked if I could make this a quarterly get together.
My next few posts are going to be the cards we made. I'm listing separately to show the materials for each. The card with this post is my favorite.
Since this was my first workshop I'd like to thank Anna for posting great sketch ideas. Her blog is always my "go to" when I need a jump start for my cards.

Today we went for 'extreme' adventure and did the zipline by the Haleakala Crater. WHAT A BLAST! There are five zipline crossings through trees and gulches. Each one gets longer and more fun...the last line is 750 ft and you zip at 45 mph! If you are ever in Maui, call Skyline Eco-Adventure for a kickass time! Here's a pic of me on the line...it's a bit blurry but you get the idea.

If you haven't figured out by now, I love snowmen! :). I had some left over basic grey paper and made another card using a snowman from penny black stickeroos. I added mini dots to brads and dipped in dazzling diamonds. A border of sparkle is added to the snowman sticker.
The scallop squares were cut using the spellbinders nestabilities small scallop set.

Well...not quite yet. I love the fall and would like to enjoy it a bit more. However, here's another card using the Penny Black Stickeroos. This happy snowman is from the 'snowflakes falling' sheet.
A christmas card isn't appropriate without lots of sparkle! I added su dazzling diamonds to the snowflakes, snowman, and snow. The snowman's nose has a dab of stickles. The pretty, swirlie pattern ribbon adds a final festive touch.
paper - paper company silver, basic grey snowballs (blitzen designer line), shimmer white, su basic black, blue bayou (textured); accessories - penny black stickeroos, ribbon, su dazzling diamonds, stickles 'christmas red'
